Who We Are

QR & Barcode Scanner is developed and published by MCMLV1 LLC, a technology company based in the United States. This privacy policy applies specifically to the QR & Barcode Scanner application distributed on Google Play.

Information We Collect

QR & Barcode Scanner does not collect any personal information. Specifically:

• No names, email addresses, or contact information collected by the application
• No location data or GPS information
• No device identifiers collected by the application itself
• No user accounts, sign-ins, or registrations
• No analytics, usage tracking, or telemetry sent by the application
• No photos or images saved from the camera — the camera is used only for real-time barcode detection

Camera Usage

QR & Barcode Scanner requires camera access to scan QR codes and barcodes. The camera feed is processed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device barcode scanning library. No images or camera data are transmitted to MCMLV1 LLC, Google servers, or any third party. The camera is used exclusively for real-time barcode detection and is not used for any other purpose.

Locally Stored Data

The app stores a small amount of non-personal data on your device using local storage (localStorage). This includes your scan history (the decoded text from scanned codes), your Pro purchase status, and app preferences. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to any server, and can be cleared at any time by clearing the app data in your device settings.

Network Activity

QR & Barcode Scanner uses an internet connection only when you explicitly choose to take an action on a scan result, such as opening a URL in your browser, searching for a product, or looking up a book. These actions open external websites (Google Search, Google Shopping, barcodelookup.com, Google Books) in your device's browser or Chrome Custom Tabs. No data is sent to MCMLV1 LLC. The application itself does not make any background network requests, does not phone home, and does not transmit scan results automatically.

Third-Party Services

The application uses Google ML Kit for on-device barcode scanning. ML Kit's barcode scanning module runs entirely on-device and does not transmit data to Google servers. When you choose to look up a product or open a link, your device's browser connects to the relevant website (Google, barcodelookup.com, etc.) subject to those services' own privacy policies. MCMLV1 LLC does not control or receive data from these external services.

Advertising

QR & Barcode Scanner does not contain any advertising. No advertising SDKs, advertising identifiers, or ad-related tracking of any kind are included in the application.

In-App Purchases

QR & Barcode Scanner offers an optional one-time in-app purchase of $1.99 to unlock Pro features (expanded scan history, CSV export, and auto-copy on scan). This transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. MCMLV1 LLC does not collect, process, or store any payment or billing information. Your purchase status is managed by Google Play and cached locally on your device.

Children's Privacy

QR & Barcode Scanner does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app does not collect personal information from any user. The app contains no advertising and no third-party tracking services.

Permissions

QR & Barcode Scanner requests the following Android permissions:

• CAMERA — Required to scan QR codes and barcodes. The camera feed is processed on-device only.
• VIBRATE — Used for haptic feedback when a scan is detected and when interacting with buttons.
• BILLING — Required for the optional Pro upgrade via Google Play.

The application does not request location, microphone, contacts, storage, or phone permissions.

Data Sharing

MCMLV1 LLC does not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data to third parties. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking platforms are integrated into the application.

Data Security

Because QR & Barcode Scanner does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no personal data at risk. Scan history and preferences stored locally on your device are protected by your device's own security measures.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
